April 5, 2011 – Tomorrow I head to Nashville to re-cut “American Heart” with multi-award winning songwriter/producer Jeffrey Steele. This has been a long time in the making and I’m extremely excited about what Jeffrey will bring to the song. He has worked with some of the greatest artists in Country music and has been named one of Billboard Magazine’s Top 5 writers 6 years in a row. Stay tuned for news about the session and a brand new Nashville version of “American Heart.” - Jon
Next Performance – National Memorial Day Parade in D.C.
My sincere gratitude to the Lone Suvivor Foundation for their support of “American Heart.” Their sponsorship has made it possible for me to perform at the National Memorial Day Parade in D.C. on May 31. I urge everyone to check out this amazing organization which was inspired by the lost heroes of Operation Redwing and by Lokhay Warkawal: the Pashtun tradition that helped save the life of a remarkable American soldier: former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell. Marcus received the Navy Cross for combat heroism while facing Taliban fighters during the deadly Operation Red Wing in Afghanistan in 2005. He subsequently authored a memoir “Lone Survivor,” which quickly became a New York Times bestseller.
The Lone Survivor foundation goes to extraordinary lengths to welcome home, empower, and restore American wounded warriors, their families, and surviving families.
May 11, 2010…The Launch
April marked the launch of americanheartmusic.com. I was honored to have Twitter and Facebook support from so many folks including Speaker Gingrinch, Governor Palin, Congresswoman Bachmann, Congressman McCotter and Senator Vitter…not to mention the many generous people from all over who continue to support “American Heart” and our Troops. Last month I was also fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play Tea Parties in Minneapolis, Illinois, St. Louis, D.C. and most recently the Winning America Back Conference in Kansas City along with speakers Fred Thompson, Jeri Thompson, and Governor Palin. There are some extremely exciting things on the horizon so please check back on the site or join me on facebook. Thanks so much everyone. - Jon
Welcome to “American Heart”
It’s unusual for an individual song to take its author on a journey.
The journey to this point has been truly remarkable and there are many folks who have made it possible… folks who not only believe in the song, but who also believe in the greatness of America.
I hope you get a chance to look around the site and to check out Ride2Recovery: the amazing charity with which “American Heart” is aligned.
Please check back as I will be blogging about upcoming performances and will be providing updates as future events are scheduled.
Lastly, there are several ways in which you can share this site with others via Facebook, Twitter, etc… Thank you so much for helping us spread the word.
